All my life, I’ve been taking photos and videos of anything and everything. Every time my friends came over for slumber parties growing up, I had my disposable camera ready and giant camcorder charged up. We made wonderful and hilarious memories — from Jerry Springer-inspired talk shows to music videos or Blair Witch Project parodies (as one naturally does in the late 90s).

And how thrilling it was to get my photos developed — having no idea how good they would come out, but always hopeful there’d be some keepers in the group!

I’m the girl who has all of her yearbooks and various life photo albums. I certainly don’t want to live my life stuck in the past, but reflecting on the best parts of life — and having photos to remind me of those moments — has always been important to me. It’s something I love being able to give to others.

I’m based out of Springfield, Missouri (https://www.springfieldmo.org ) a community full of creativity, character, and incredible people I’m lucky to photograph. So… how did I start my business? With a lot of encouragement, a great camera, and a leap of faith.

I started photographing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at my gym (https://www.springfieldbjj.com ), and then roller and ice hockey events. Then I realized… if I can successfully photograph fast-paced sports like that, I can surely photograph portraits. Turns out, I was right (it happens once in a while). I contacted two wonderful former students, a beautiful couple, and asked if I could take their photos to help build my portfolio. In exchange, they could have all the photos I took. They turned out AMAZING, some of my favorites still to this day.

Since then, I’ve photographed not just jiu jitsu, roller, and ice hockey, but also basketball, families and seniors, weddings, cars, horses, dogs, cats, homes, and various events. There isn’t anything I can’t do if I put my mind to it!
